Autumn Winter Fashion Trends As we enter a new season, you may be looking for your perfect wardrobe updates for the colder weather. Whether you have a special occasion or event coming up, you’re wanting to update your autumn basics or you want to create a capsule wardrobe for winter, we can help you breathe new life into your closet! But what are the trends to be looking out for this season? And what’s new in at Creaseys? Read on to find out what trends are hitting the high street this season… 1. The Staple Coat On the runways, the likes of Prada, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana featured black coats as a key trend for 2023. For many of us, a black coat that goes with everything is an absolute essential! Whether you chose a long line, fitted, oversized or short, a black coat is a staple this autumn and winter. For a timeless addition to your wardrobe that will work for every outfit, look for a fitted style rather than an oversized cut. 2. The Capsule Basic As featured by Prada, Balmain and Valentino, a timeless, crisp white shirt is the perfect starting point when putting together an outfit. Dress it up or down using different items in your wardrobe for the perfect Autumnal look, making you seamlessly sharp and chic for whatever the occasion. Team it tucked into a midi skirt with trainers for the day and heels for the evening, or dressed down with jeans and boots. 3. Office Dressing Ditch the loungewear, it’s time for tailoring to take centre stage. Add elegance to your wardrobe with pencil skirts, suiting and luxury dressing, with a touch more glam than the usual 9-5 attire. Incorporate it into your wardrobe by teaming an oversized blazer with jeans or smart tailored trousers with a casual tee. 4. Winter Blooms Once again, the darker winter floral is the perfect mix of feminine floral prints and grungy seasonal styling. Dark and monochrome flowers were seen on the runway for Erdem, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and many more designers, and are the perfect autumn/winter addition to your wardrobe. Look for dark bases with floral prints, in navy, black or purple to be right on trend. 5. Teddy Bear Dressing Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen a rise in popularity with fabrics like boucle and shearling fabrics, both in our wardrobes and our homes. When the weather turns chilly, there is nothing better than something cuddly to wrap up in. Velvet is also big this season. Soft fabrics don’t just have to be for cosy loungewear – you’re guaranteed to be seeing a lot of velvet dresses this Christmas season. 6. Shiny Season Metallics are not just for the party season! Although, they’re perfect for that too. The likes of Gucci and Victoria Beckham have showcased colourful jewel tones as well as classic gold and silver. To make dressing with metallics easier, dress them down with jeans or leggings, your staple white shirt, or stick with sequins for accessories, like a bag, belt or hair piece. 7. The Bag of The Season Speaking of accessories, the bag of the season is the clutch! Usually only used in more formal settings, designers showed the clutch being carried under the arm and hugged to the chest. For a more day-to-night look, maybe opt for a clutch back with a detachable strap, to free up your hands day-to-day!
